What is Couples Therapy?

Couples Therapy is a therapeutical approach designed to help couples improve their relationships, resolve conflicts, build trust issues after infidelity and enhance emotional intimacy. It can provide a safe space for

both partners to express their feelings, understand each other’s perspectives and work through challenges together.

How Couples Therapy Works

Initial Consultation:

An initial consultation session is an important step in the couples therapy process. It is a great opportunity for both of you to share your own perspective regarding your relationship issues. It also provides an opportunity for you to get to know me so you can decide if working with me would be suitable.

I do also offer an initial brief free consultation for 10 minutes. This can be done in person to discuss the problems in your relationship and how I can be of help.

Therapy Sessions:

The purpose of the first session is to gain an understanding of the history of your relationship. We will work together to identify goals that you want to achieve through couples therapy. Discuss how you communicate to each other and how you manage conflict. We will also discuss your childhood experiences as this educates us on how

you behave in romantic relationships and very beneficial to the couples therapy process.

I will guide discussions, encourage open and honest communication. Including teaching practical skills for resolving conflict and enhancing intimacy.
